 WhatsApp To Introduce Contact Note Feature for Web Client

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature aimed at enhancing user experience by allowing them to attach notes to their contacts directly within the app. This feature, currently in development, will provide a convenient way for users to add personalized information about specific contacts. The contact note feature is set to be included in a future update of WhatsApp Web.

In our previous article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.12 update, we hinted at WhatsApp's work on a feature to attach notes to contacts. However, with the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.17 update, we've uncovered that WhatsApp is also developing a feature to quickly add specific messages to notes. These enhancements are particularly geared towards improving the user experience for business accounts, enabling them to add contextual information to customer contacts and conversations.

Although support for notes is still in progress on WhatsApp beta for Android, our findings indicate that WhatsApp is actively working on implementing this feature for a future update of WhatsApp Web. As illustrated in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring a new text field within the chat info screen, allowing users to input information to be added as notes. This functionality will empower businesses to efficiently manage customer information directly within WhatsApp, eliminating the need for external tools or complex systems to track customer details.

By leveraging notes, businesses can easily recall specific details about their customers, such as past interactions, unique preferences, payment information, and other essential follow-up details. This organized approach simplifies customer relationship management, saving businesses time and resources while facilitating personalized communication with customers. It's important to note that these notes are private, ensuring that only the business can view them, without notifying the customer about the attached notes.

The contact note feature is currently under development and is expected to be included in a future update of the WhatsApp Web client.
